"For One I Love"
"For One I Love"
a life of pain is his to walk a bit
further each day
missing his Angel, his little girl
this quiet, hurting man grown old in his grief
in happier dreams he walks with her
his Angela, his life, his baby girl,
can he ever be drawn out of his exile of pain?
he walks with her through the park they used to go
past the balloon man who knew them well
sometimes blue and sometimes pink were the animal
balloons she loved so much
such memories break his heart,
again, and again,
he recalls sweet memories of the lake and the beach
they loved,
feeding the ducks, and the sweet little ducklings that made
her laugh,
gone, such innocent beauty, gone,
she's gone, she died,
she died.
just once, she died,
his is a sad dead life of death each day,
she lived her sad death, once,
he lives with death daily,
he dies inside,
forever,
a thousand deaths a day,
while all he wants is to take it back,
and hold his sweet little girl once more,
and hold his Angel once more.
