Eulogy

The Shadows are rising with death in their eyes
they speak to me when the silence cries
they weep for widows who've lost their love
they sleep through seasons ever unknown

A eulogy for my dear friend
the beginning of the end
the shadows took her dying heart
and now it rests down deep

I try to find solace but only seem to weep
mourning for her lost life, for days I do not sleep
you were the only love I ever held
 the only heart I ever felt

Now I lay you here to rest
within these cemetery gates
a heart that was truly blessed
by a simple act of faith

Now I feel your presence
even years after your gone
I've held myself together
for years that seem so long

I wish that I could hold you
tell you that you were loved
one last time embrace you
and give you one last hug

I would have tried to save you 
but the shadows had come and  gone
this will be the last time 
I will stand and be strong

Its ripping at my heart
to know that your not here 
wish I could start over
and still hold you my sweet dear

Time will continue to pass
and this aching heart will heal
I cherish this love that lasted
that forever I will feel

You were my only love
my only hope that left me strong
now you are an angel
and your love will carry on
