Just Another Rainy Day
So you told me to write you another letteror maybe a poem would be even better
seal it in an envelope with a smile
would it be worth waiting for a while
Or maybe I should write you sonnet
at the end leave a lil' smile upon it
or would it be better if I outlined my heart
traced a picture of it on paper with crayon to start
this love could be looked upon as an art
theirs beauty that strikes the core like cupid's dart
i take this heart and form a mold
freeze it until it's winter ice cold
would you break it before it got old
I thought this love was precious like gold
I sit and stare at the tv and out the glass
i watch the screen in front of me as the cars pass
I sit on my bed and wonder what your thinkin'
or maybe daydream to capture a picture of you sinkin'
sinkin' deep into mud on unsolid ground
it's another rainy day, the tears keep falling down
drops of heaven streaming from blue skies
I see the hurt and pain behind those eyes
lost in a relationship thats dead of love
couldn't rebound when it came to push n' shove
trampled upon was this heart of yours torn
just another rainy day, as I watch you mourn
a stroke at such a young age
still you kept the focus, and put the pen to the page
writing was your way to escape
the drama of an everyday rage
Could love simply just be tosed
out with the trash at all cost
it seemed like another rainyday
would come and pass your way
Did you ever take a break from the norm
have you ever felt the calm before the storm
did love ever warn you in a such a way
that it'd bring about another rainy day
