Underneath the Bridge
Underneath this scarlet stained skyline , horizion stretching out to touch the seas. Underneath the crimson moon and the stars, I revel in the beauty of your eternity. In the silent seconds waiting, I feel the presence of you here. Your heart beating so close to mine, as I sit underneath this bridge.Lonely times have gotten the best of me, as tears stream down my face,
I remember the tragedy. You took my hand beside yours and walked me down that trail. Before we could reach that bridge your hands began to fail. Slipping I try to grasp as my lungs exhale. You were within my reach but away with the waves you sailed.
I tried holding onto to you, i just don't know what to do, now that I've lost you. The years keep passing by, and I still wonder why, to this day. I visit your grave and face this pain. I could have saved you and kept you in my life, now your with Christ.
Sometimes I cry as I remember, that cold day back in November. The last day of a dream, a slow and painful scream and then your gone. I held you oh so long. Now underneath this bridge I walk alone , and carry on this pain, as I post memories on your grave. A cross and an image of your face still remains. As I walk underneath this bridge once full of water, full of life. Summers heat has dried this stream, where we walked that night. On that trail painted by leaves, in falls bitter memories . Only memories of that day remain, you have left me all alone .
