Sitting Beneath the Ashes
Sitting beneath the ashes and ruble of a devastating quakeSo many lives lost, broken families seeking faith
Why does God allow such a thing to exist
to steal the lives of those we called innocent
yet a hatred turmoil stirs within , we cry
as we look deep at the death toll rise
We stand and stare at shadows
where places use to stand
once held together, now broken
nations in need of such demand
It is in this time we sit beneath the ashes
and watch our lives flash, as the building crashes
down, down , down we feel our bodies break
so fragile, so precious, yet we let life go to waste
So we must lean on Gods unending faith
and seek His love and undying grace
it is in these moments, we call our nation to stand
that we can use some help from his eternal hands
