Toys and Boys
In the bedroom stands a chest, in the corner where toys restmemories of children playing, I can hear what they are saying
G.I. Joes and barbies dance, ballerinas take their stance
It's a world of dreams , It's a world of infinite possibilities
boys and toys will have their fun, in the sun they will run
lil' Todd and his brother Brett, will play for times they can't forget
matchbox cars and baseball cards
rootbeer floats and sailboats
boys will be boys and toys will be toys
broken and abused, new or used
scrabble and Clue, Chutes and Ladders and Trivial Pursuit
Boys will be boys and toys will be toys
guitars, drum sets an encore of noise
In the basement, in a box, are your old toys and shiny rocks
In the closet, in the box that's black, are toys that will never come back
broken and abused, once new , now used into the truck they are packed
stacked in the corner, a mess of cd's, replaced by memeories and dvd's
out with the old and in with the new, now all grown up whats a boy to do
There's AmVet , there's goodwill, there's children in need
these worn and torn toys will they ever leave
you held them, your parents tell you to sell them
let go of your toys and pass them on to your boys
