Lucky
This heart goes unscathed , lucky this time the bullet didnt graze,it hit the window pane . It shattered the glass behind my head
I ran into the bedroom and slid under the bed.
A picture frame used to hang where the bullet hit
Now a hole in the wall where my fingers fit
A new picture now hangs in its spot
in the place where the wall was shot
I was so lucky that it didn't hit me
an early exit to this life would it be
All I could hear was screeching tires
seconds of silence before the gun fires
I was sitting on the couch enjoying t.v.
when a bullet from a loaded gun nearly struck me
I said, oh shit and I ran for cover
hell it could have been some pissed off lover
but then again I have no enemies
all my enemies became lost memories
Damn was I lucky this day
I knelt at my bedside and prayed
how can I feel safe in this home
when Im here with my kids, or all alone
Damn what am I to do
I feel so lucky that I'm here to tell you
