Love's Cherished Dreams
My heart is filled with an ocean of tearsthe emotion from losing life's battle
a wall of grief built up over the years
only to see it fall beneath your weight
the weight of your love has crushed the veins
the stains of love remain as vivid as yesterday
Did you not tell me you loved me
Did you not tell me I was your only
the only one whose heart you'd ever hold
but how many others have you told
How many other lies can I face so bold
it's these bitter tears that taste of salt
when did you bring this passion to a halt
I have seen love's cherished dreams
I have tasted the bad romance I once knew
A love once so beautiful and serene
Did I not tell you that I loved you
I heard your heart beating deep inside your chest
I felt the warmth as I pressed against your breast
I felt the pitter patter, your love was all that mattered
Did you have something to confess
Where were love's cherished dreams
were they buried in a mural of scenes
Where was this passion that was once alive
now I feel the weight of a heart crushed inside
