The Death of This Love
My heart feels the strain of this tension of a heart sown shut, broken once from holding love. The blood thickens in these veins,
swollen will they erupt with the pain of what love remains.
Darkened and cold , sad lies cover the guilt stains . How could you deny a heart willing to accept, the gift of love.
Unity brings two hearts as one, what has this love become
Nowhere for this love to go, my heart is ready to explode
locked inside with years of grief, can't seem to find any release
My heart beat weakens, is love put to rest
the song is still playing, long after this death
the death of this love, once a passionate fire
the life of this love, once filled with desire
I'd rather have spent one day knowing you loved me
than eternity never knowing such pain
I'd rather have seen what our kids would have looked like
than wallow in the death of this love that remains
