    There Could be only One

     There could be only one that could give us his life
    There could be only one and His name was Christ 
    A life that I have accepted into my heart
    A life that I know is true through and through

    There could only be one that could endure such pain
    could take on all the burdens of this world and claim   
    every life that has come to exist
    Its told even oceans cried out his name in bliss

    Its believed that mountains shook at his voice
    we are called to lift up a glorious noise
    make a joyful noise unto the Lord
    never sever the ties that we accord

    Can you hear the angels trumpets sounding
    a parade of the heavens, in my eardrums pounding
    me with the greatest joy a boy could ever know
    an abundant love that everyday you show

    There could be only one
    there could never be two
    well there could be three
    the holy spirit in me

    I dance when I feel the spirit move
    a heavenly tune , I get into the groove
    throw my hands up into the air
    no longer feel a breath of despair

    My God he always knows whats best
    feels me with his love, my heart leaps out of my chest
    Now to you I simply confess
    because you are the one that gave me this breath

    A good statement of faith, my friend. I use to write religious poetry but stay away from it most of the time, too much redundancy. Besides, my worldview has changed, more spiritually centered.
