Midnight Dreams

Midnight dreams come into view
I fell asleep with a memory of you
through the window of glass I stare
I wish that I could see you there

just once I wish that I could see
the clarity of life, the beauty within a dream
but I just don't understand what it means
two years ago I never knew it'd be

so easy to stare out of this glass
reflect on memories of the past
Could I have known this friend was near
now in my heart the understanding comes clear

these midnight dreams I see inside my head
 while I am fast asleep cuddled in my bed
Could it be that you are closer than you appear
 and will this midnight dream ever dissappear

It's so quiet , so quiet in my room
I feel the darkness of these dreams that bloom
yet their is a sense of comfort that I feel
are these midnight dreams for real
