    Poem Commentary

    I'm sure all who read this will understand that we face temptation and struggle to stay faithful to those we love. This poem talks about envy, lust and adultery. It tells us of these sins in the bible. We shall not act upon these urges but stay commited to the ones we are to love.

    Acts of Destruction

     Rain falls down like spikes impaling the darkness, the black cloud that hides my heart is revealed. One blink says it all as I fall into temptation, under your spell. Your smell intoxicating aroused by your beauty, If only I could taste the breath on your lips. You make it so hard to break free of these chains. I know you see the pain of depression , the hurt in my eyes, the lump in my throat. I have to admit I'd feel guilty , If I ever took more than a glare, a one second, one minute stare . The next minute your totally bare. These are the acts of destruction, the fall of the envious man. One minute you lust for her beauty, the next minute a one night stand. Damn I would feel so ashamed to look at another mans wife. Would I fall into the pit of adulterous doom, or be shadowed by the darkness of a sex scented room. I need not pursue her beauty, but stay true to my very own. I need not to stare and picture her totally bare, for then I am surley aware of the acts of destruction. The broken bond which would be severed and the broken heart left bleeding as if torn and ripped apart by thorns, only to stitch it together with a single thread . Beware of her beauty and let not the acts of destruction lure you in , or the scent of her beauty simply befriend. For I am but a man who has been enticed by temptation, but I did not act upon my urge for I am commited to the beautiful life I deserve. The one and only heart that stands beating next to mine. The scent of her beauty strikes me every time.  I see the beauty in my lovers eyes. Only the acts of destruction veil such a luring disguise. If ever her beauty was then a crime, how then could I love a woman of her kind.

    While the wording is modern, they overall flow brings to mind writings by Shakespeare. Darkness resides in the deepest rescues of us all-our strength lies in our ability to turn from this darkness and remain true to that which we stand for, or turn away and give in to the blackness of our souls and minds.

    omg winter! this is so amazing and profound on so many levels. i think and all men and women should read this. i hinko many ppl give in to temtation without ever stop and thinking what the consequences could be. until it is too late and they have already cross that line, only to realize that it wasn't worth it. kudos for this write winter. excellent job
