Walking In Righteousness
The sand is hot and my back is burningbut to this unknown land I won't be returning
in the dry desolate desert I thirst for truth
as I walk the path to get closer to You
The sandals I wear are broken and worn
the shirt on my back sweaty and torn
a cold sick chill runs down my spine
i'm walking in righteousness with the divine
No comfort in this 110 degree heat
blisters and sunburn torture my feet
No shelter to hide from the sun
no oasis to run to and have fun
standstorms, rattlers, and cacti
no rain, no pain, just three magi
seeking the chosen , born in a manger
to the world this man is no stranger
searching this world with heavens light
I'm walking in righteousness day and night
finding a love that could never betray
an embrace from which I'll never stray
it seems so hard to fully commit
to give you my all, every lil' bit
the pain you now take it away
my Lord, you've shown me the way
I'm walking in righteousness
I'm embracing eternal bliss
In Your Kingdom I long to reside
and in your word I will confide
