The Echoes of Winter
The cold winters storm pierced my soul like a splinterthe echoes of love crying amid in december
I watch minds change like the season
Is dying for love worth all the reason?
Yet ask me why I cannot deny
a love as pure as rain from the sky
Looking hard, but blinded by heartache
Love was a symphony singing heavens song
the echoes starting to fade, was there something more
to this love that lives on
carrying out its history as a legend or a mystery
I was dancing to the beauty of the echoing cries
hear your heartbeat one final time, just as you say goodbye.
The hardest thing I've ever had to say, and look away from love
walking away, watching my heart pour blood.
It seemed to come easy to love something as small
as a tear falling down your face or nothing at all
I could hear you breathing, I could hear you call
your crying heart's pulse once rising it falls
Time was never long enough to love you
You said eternity was just a breath of despair
I knew what I held was holding me through
another cold winter night, lost without you.
I could hear the echoes of winter
your voice was hidden beyond clouds
it was spring when I lost you
It was winter when you were found
