Laundry at Three
Clothes, clothes, clothes everywhereLaundry day is nigh
Putting it off, putting it off
Get up at noon on my day off
Plan to go at one, then two
Finally I'm ready by three
When I arrive, two children
Milling about, getting into things
Like children always do
I find six machines
Just waiting to be filled
Very few people in view
Half hour later, laundry all clean
But no dryers in sight
Out of nowhere it seems
People have come in and gobbled them up
So now I have to wait to finish the job
Maybe soon, maybe soon
I hope to get home before dark
