Mighty 69th
With the sound of the pipesBlowing in the wind
The gallant men of the mighty 69th
March onward to fight and die
On the foreign shores of Europe
Italy, France and Germany
They are proud men
Strong and brave
Fighting for Ireland
True and sure
The gallant men of the mighty 69th
For the glory of the Lord
Each with a blessed cross
In his pocket and a prayer on his lips
They fight and die in glory
Lying in strange soil
For peace, freedom and God
Spreading a bit of the blarney
As they move along
At the beginning of every fight
To the sound of the pipes
They shout their battle cry
Come and get it you bloody blackhearts
