Traveler
Broken and sobbing, you drive on a roadWondering what's happened to your life
Praying for answers and forgiveness
Perhaps some guidance too
Suddenly you see a hitchhiker
Walking in the same direction
You ponder him as you drive by
You feel prompted to stop
So you reluctantly do so and pick him up
The hiker gets in and says thanks
He's gruff looking, long hair and beard
His bright blue eyes, make you feel uneasy
Yet you feel compelled to go on
As you drive on, at first there's an eerie aura
Almost deafening silence in the car
But after a few minutes
You ask where he's headed
He says just up the road a piece
You nod and say to yourself, I can do that
Suddenly he ask's you why you were crying
You hit the breaks and ask him how he knew that
He replies that it is written on your face
You move forward and he goes on to say
That you're getting divorced
You hit the breaks again, this time in shock
A man you just met, knows all about you
Then he calls you by name
You turn and ask him who he is
He replies that you already know
At first you're puzzled, then it hits you
Why his eyes made you uneasy
He tells you to pull into the next rest stop
Just ahead on the right
You start crying even more, in his arms
He prays with you and says that this is his stop
He then tells you to turn around and go home
That it will be hard at first, but things are already better
He gets out and you pull away, then look back
You then see him get picked up
By the next soul to be saved
