Lifeline
Everyone has a lifeline, a rope to surviveEveryday we are grateful to have it intact
Sometimes taken for granted and neglected
Ever present, though not always strong
We seek it when in trouble or sick
When things aren't going so right
Rarely do we tug at the line
When things are well and full of life
We need to check it everyday
To make sure it stays steady and strong
When life is good, bad or indifferent
For if we let it go too long
It may just snap
And one day you will look
When you need it the most
It won't be there at all
