Sifted Like Wheat
The greatest test in HeavenOne no one wants to take
But one Lucifer loves to give
He gave it to Job, who passed
Wanted to give it to Peter
Now he lives to give it to us
From time to time he bugs God
To let him sift us like wheat
To show God that he is right
About how we will crumble
If put to a true test of faith
That we are weak as water
Sometimes God relents
Because he knows the outcome
Sometimes he says no
Like he did with Peter
To keep Lucifer in his place
Much too much to his chagrin
For even he can't truly take on God
Sooner or later God will say
Enough is enough, speak to me no more
The time has come to put this nonsense to bed
Put an end to it all and when he does, well
Oooh boy, lets just say I don't want to be in the way
