Ode To James West
A Civil War captain and heroNow with the U.S. secret service
Dressed in different shades of blue
Sometimes in green or black or gray
With black hat and boots and steed
He lives works, plays and travels by train
His partner also a captain and hero
Is a master of mechanics, science and disguise
His name is Artemus Gordon
He uses his brain and charm
While Jim uses both brain and braun
And quite often save each others lives
Usually from their most feared nemesis
Doctor Miguelito Quixiote Loveless
They stand in awe of this genius gone mad
He'd like to destroy everyone
Over three feet tall, because of his size
A dwarf he be, but only in body
His brain is twenty times his size
Ten times he's come across our heroes
Each time only to be foiled by them
Always leaving them in awe of him
But he wasn't the only villain to try
And take the world over by storm
There was a group of assassins
Called " The Eccentrics " led by a diabolical
Count Carlo Maria Robespiere Manzeppi
Twice he came a calling
Both times he escaped to fight another day
But there is a whole rogues gallery of bad guys
All foiled by these two men sent out
By President Ulysses S. Grant
Watched over by God and Col. James Richmond
Often playful, always loyal and true
Mischevious, strong and hard working
With gadgets and tricks in tow
Watch out all you bad guys and mad men
For when James Tristan West is to the rescue
Be assured you'll fail and the innocent saved
For Jim and Arte are on the way
To " The Wild Wild West " and you
