Stationary
Likes statues in a museumMotionless it seems at times
Trapped by circumstances or fate
All one can do is pace the floor
Or throw a small ball against the wall
For an hour a day, if their lucky
Visitors only come once a week
Sometimes not for months or years
Or even not at all
Only companion is the man outside
Even they get to go home
Stuck behind stone walls
Barbed wire and bars of steel
Not a very pleasant place
Even for just a visit
Some of them go stir crazy
Or bitter or angry or mean
Others learn to adjust
One way or another
Some just flitter away and die
Alone, miserable and forgotten
