Trumpet in B Minor
I close my eyes and wait for the silenceWhen all of a sudden
I hear a faint beat of drums
Then a piano moves slowly in
Then a clarinet, a sax, a triangle
Finally a slow mello trumpet
Pipes in and changes the tempo
I find myself bobbing my head
To the music in my mind
No one else can hear it
It's all mine alone
Then slowly, one by one
The instruments begin to fade
And leave the trumpet alone
To do its solo in a quiet jazzy beat
Then after five minutes or so
The others come back in to play
Then they all fade out together
I open my eyes a much happier person
Than when I closed them
