Thorn
You know the story of the lion and the boy?One day a boy was walking on a road
He was stopped when he heard a great roar
He then came across a lion in great pain
It saw the boy and begged him to check his paw
The boy saw a great big thorn
The lion pleaded to have the thorn removed
The boy looked up to Heaven and prayed
Then said to the lion, I'll make you a deal
I'll take the thorn out on one condition
Anything, anything cried the lion
You must promise never to eat me
Anything, anything the lion did howl
Very well, it is done said the boy
Thank you, thank you the lion did say
Remember your promise the boy remarked
In return for the boy's kindness
The mighty lion led the boy to safety
Now some years have passed since that day
And the boy, now a man, went walking
On the very same path
He heard a howl and thought
I know that howl, could it be and went to see
He saw an old lion with a thorn in his paw
When the lion begged, the man smiled
He made the same deal as before
Then to the lions surprise, it was the boy
And they walked and talked everyday since
They became fast friends that morning
Each watching out for the other, as friends should do
Now you go see if you have any strangers with thorns
Help them to remove them and they may be grateful
And be your new friend forever
