Skies of Blue
Often I am asked the terrible questionWhat is the last thing I can remember seeing
Before my eyes went completely dark?
I always answer the same way
My last sights were on the way to the hospital
First I saw a large crucifix next to a church
A flock of birds flying by on the left
Then looking out to see the warm sun
A field of bright green grass
And the last thing I remember
I look up and all I see is
The skies of blue overhead
