Race Home
One day in New JerseyThree brother's had a bike race
Eric, the eldest, rode one of green
Glenn, the middle one, rode one of purple
Kurt, the youngest, rode one of blue
Each felt he could win
They all readied themselves to win
They all prayed for steadiness
They all prayed for speed
They all prayed for guidance
They all prayed for endurance
And a safe, steady course
But only Kurt's daughter Melissa
Prayed that they all had fun
They started in Bound Brook
On an old horse trail
Used in the Revolutionary War
On thru Johnson Park
And to their destination
Eric's home in Highland Park
In all, a nice 12 mile trek
Ready, set, go
All three were steady, fast and strong
They all enjoyed gliding along
As they swept by the Raritan River
Heading straight for their goal
Each trying to win, but not really
In the end it was a three way tie
Or so it was declared
As they got together, each one had a grin
They went to dinner and did eat
Each one joking, that they had won
They then went on and headed home
