Trip To Guadalupe
Two young men on a tripThey start in Jersey
They hop on a train
And stop in Philly
They switch the rails
Then head to Chicago
Where they have a small stay
Five hours to kill
Before they can move forward
So they walk and explore
And find something to eat
They climb high atop the Sears Tower
Taking pictures galore
Make their way back
To catch their new train
Where they travel the rails
Through Indiana, Nebraska, Kansas
On to Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico
To Arizona, Nevada, onward they go
To Glendale and finally Los Angeles
Where they arrive four days later
Just a small California farming town
Way down in the south
An hour later they make their way north
Passing many smaller villages
Along the Pacific Coast they go
Thru Santa Barbara, Goleta, Gaviota
Going by Surf and onto Vandenberg AFB
Alas they pull into their destination
The booming metropolis of Guadalupe
Whose main claim to fame is that
The TV pilot for " The Invader's "
Was filmed there in 1966
But they do not stop there
They continue on to San Luis Obispo
For lunch with a friend is a must
So they plop down at "Applebee's"
As they talk about their trip to Guadalupe
