ALONE AND FORGOTTEN
Resting for ages or so it would seem,With only the musty smells of my existence,
and on others like myself to lean.
I've seen so many come into my life.
Some in the early blossomings of youth,
others in pain and full of strife.
So many faces some young and some old,
With so many my tales I've told.
Perhaps you know of the great loves I've lost,
or my tale to survive no matter the cost.
On the outside I may appear battered and worn.
But from my inner self so many emotions are torn.
If you'll only take the time to really see,
you'll find a passion in me.
To often forgotten I'm left by myself,
to sit alone on my dusty shelf.
Alone in the silence of my coveted place,
night creaps in and makes my heart race.
I'm only thought of in certain life's stages.
Please just take the time to see my pages.
Perhaps rage is the emotion I make you feel,
or maybe the idea,
that dreams can be real.
At times for granted I'm took,
the lonely existence of a library book.
