PAPER AIRPLANES
Carefully you learned each line.
Each line of my soul,
Using restraint, and control.
You carefully folded me;
Careful not to rumple or tear me,
In anyway.
Slowly building this friendship;
Day by day.
Learning each line.
Smoothing out each fold.
Offering a warmth,
To a heart gone cold.
Cautiously measuring;
Everything out.
Making sure you wouldn't be hurt again;
Traveling this route.
When each fold was in your mind;
complete.
You walked another mountain;
Learning more,
Preparing for your next feat.
Would this creation hold strong;
And soar upon the wind?
What would become of this moment;
You became my friend?
Will it stand strong,
Floating on air?
Soaring through;
The atmosphere.
Forgetting past heartaches;
And pain.
Trusting in the strength;
Of this paper airplane.
