FALLING ON MY PRIDE
I poured my heart out to you,
until my ink turned red.
But, you simply claimed,
I was "feeling sorry for myself,"
instead.
Foolishly, I put it all,
on the line.
Once again,
I misread
the signs.
So now our words seem guarded.
and no longer seem,
to flow.
Trying to guard my heart now,
and not allowing my feelings,
to show.
So now, I write these words,
to try to understand.
Falling;
upon my pride,
I land.
Have I ruined what could have been?
Have I pushed away,
a friend?
So now, I'll step back,
within myself.
And put these feelings,
back on the shelf.
