    NO MORE SOMEDAY

    You promised me we would be together someday,

    But with the slice of a blade, you took that all away.

    They might as well rip the heart from my chest,

    As my tears flow,

    Watching them lay you to rest.

    Evidently our bond wasn’t strong enough to make you want to live,

    And now your promises you can no longer give.

    You’ve sentenced me to a life without your voice,

    I wish you’d made a different choice.

    Someday perhaps my heart will heal,

    But for now I can no longer feel.

    For feeling only makes me imagine your arms,

    Wrapped around me,

    Keeping me from harm.

    Very interesting how one can put on your heart joy one minute, you finally feel that joy and love again and "poof" it vanishes, then the feeling to feel again seems nearly imposible to get back like it no longer exist for a stranger. more open arms are yet to come I like the flow of this poem, great write.

    I don't get it, why are you classified as "alternative"? This poem is perfect, it's a gem. I almost didn't come to read it, because I thought there was likiely to be a lot of obscenities and not much more. Isn't it possible to post such a good poem for everybody, and only label the ones with so-called bad words as "alternative"? I don't know, this is my first day in this venue.

    I was not aware that this was marked as alternative. I didn't mark it for that. Possibly the powers that be found the topic of suicide disturbing. thank you for your comments however.

    May God save us all. Your poem makes me cry. I've suffered so much lately. I'm overwhelmed with how much suffering there is in the world. We cannot touch hands, but I hope I can touch your heart, as you have touched mine. I don't understand why there is so much suffering in the world, let alone why I have my pain, or you have yours. God bless you.

    Very sad. I know someone who has committed suicide. He was in very much physical and mental pain. It is a final act of desperation. If only they would think of all the reasons to keep on living.
