LOOK AT THEM
LOOK AT THEM
TEACH THEM PEACE,
TEACH THEM THAT WORDS WILL SOLVE A PROBLEM,
QUICKER THAN FISTS.
LOOK AT THEM
TEACH THEM HARMONY,
TEACH THEM THAT JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE
ACTS OR LOOKS DIFFERENTLY THAN THEY DO,
THEY ARE STILL EQUALS.
LOOK AT THEM,
TEACH THEM HOPE,
TEACH THEM THAT WHEN THE WORLD IS AT IT'S DARKEST,
THEY CAN ALWAYS REACH OUT,
FOR YOUR HELPING HAND.
LOOK AT THEM
TEACH THEM LOVE,
TEACH THEM THAT A HUG,
CAN CONQUER AN OBSTACLE.
MORE EFFECTIVELY THAN VIOLENCE.
LOOK AT THEM.
BE THE PEACE, HOPE HARMONY,
AND LOVE IN A CHILDS LIFE.
AND MAYBE SOMEDAY THEY'LL CHOOSE NOT TO PICK UP THE GUN,
THAT HARMS THEIR PEERS
OR USE WORDS,
TO PUSH ANOTHER OVER THE EDGE.
OR CHOOSE TO SOLVE A CONFLICT WITH VIOLENCE.
LOOK AT THEM.
AND MAYBE YOU WONT REACH EVERY CHILD.
BUT MAYBE YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO A FEW.
LOOK AT THEM.
AND THINK, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU TOLD THEM;
"I LOVE YOU!"
NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO BED OR LEAVING FOR SCHOOL.
BUT JUST BECAUSE.
LOOK AT THEM.
AND MAYBE ALL THE "I LOVE YOU'S"
IN THE WORLD WONT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
MAYBE THEY WILL STILL CHOOSE THE WRONG PATH.
BUT DO YOU REALLY WANT TO TAKE THAT CHANCE?
SO JUST STOP AND,
LOOK AT THEM
AND TEACH THEM TO BE BETTER THAN THEY THOUGHT POSSIBLE.
