SOULED OUT
I'd forgotten,
The lessons of my youth.
Forgotten his sacrifice.
Ignoring the truth.
I chose to travel a dark,
and lonely route.
I foolishly;
Souled out.
I let the sins of the world,
Seep into my life.
Allowed troubles to taunt me,
To fill me with strife.
I let anguish cause me to;
curse, scream, and shout.
I gave up;
I souled out.
I fell into a pattern,
That could only cause me pain.
Allowing my sorrows,
To fall upon me;
Like rain.
I turned away,
denying the love he would;
So freely give.
I'd chosen instead in sin;
To live.
Turning to a life,
Where addictions;
Ruled me.
I took for granted,
What I could not see.
But, God was there all along.
He believed in me,
Even when my faith;
Was not strong.
I'd forgotten,
What his undying love;
Was all about.
I'd given in,
I'd souled out.
