DRIFTING THROUGH A DREAM
At first,
With great effort;
I fought off
slumbers hold.
Afraid of the images
from my mind,
That would unfold.
Fearing the darkness,
That at times;
Would come to me.
Images that make;
me weary.
But, I could not resist,
The magical dust;
of the nocturnal fairy.
As my eyes fluttered;
Leaving me to recede,
into my mind.
I trembled at,
The images;
I'd find.
Hazy images began,
To appear.
But, not the menacing;
Images,
I had feared.
Instead from the mist of colorful hues of;
pinks, purples, and greens.
Before me unfolded;
wonderful scenes.
All the images you find,
In a fairy tale.
Misty ships floating;
With clouds,
For a sail.
Pleasantly I floated,
With a warmth;
comforting me.
Spreading my wings,
Setting me free.
Children's laughter,
Like music to my ears.
These were not the images,
of my fears.
These were not the nightmares,
That made me scream.
These were images of;
Drifting through a dream.
With great effort;
I fought off
slumbers hold.
Afraid of the images
from my mind,
That would unfold.
Fearing the darkness,
That at times;
Would come to me.
Images that make;

But, I could not resist,

These were images of;
Drifting through a dream.
