COMING HOME
Yesterday rain was not the cause,
for the dampness on my cheeks.
It was only tears shaken,
From years of distress.
Where the only pain I knew,
Was from the bitter heart.
beating within my chest.
Crying out for attention.
Yet love would not open its door.
No matter how hard I knocked,
with my fist.
It was a breath of relief,
to find that love could exist.
I saw the beauty of love deep inside.
I clearly see it when I open my eyes.
It burns like;
a passion unknown.
To this world,
this love is now shown.
Through the obstacles,
Life threw my way.
I survived them all,
to be here to say;
"You don't have to fight,
your battles alone.
God is there waiting,
to welcome you home."
Everywhere I look,
I see you there.
But, this unclothed heart;
Sits cold and bare.
With vacant eyes,
That can’t see;
This love.
I’m waiting to come home to you;
Far above.
They say God wont give you,
more than you can handle
to bare.
Some days I think he's pushing it.
But with God by my side,
I know I'll persevere.
So on the day's I'm troubled,
and not sure;
What to do.
I'm confidant one day;
I'll come home to you
