SILENT TEARS
Late last night in my bed,
on the pillow where I lay my head.
I was surprised to find a dampness there,
A dampness from my silent tears.
Was it your intent that I would toss and turn,
A lesson to teach that I should learn?
For the first time in awhile it seams,
you did not hold me in your dreams.
Apparently what I offered was never enough.
You see my heart can break it's not so tough.
My online lover was your part.
but with your sword of words,
you pierced my heart.
So on my tear-stained pillow I will sleep.
because my love you failed to keep.
Your words hurt me to the core,
when you closed that final door.
You claimed to be my shining knight,
and yet you gave me up without a fight.
on the pillow where I lay my head.
