REALITY'S TOY
The other night, in my dream,
I could fly, or so it seemed.
I ran like the wind,
With no end in site.
And with my body,
everything was right.
I could jump further,
than ever before.
My body could move,
and I cried out for more.
You may think, this dream,
not unusual or rare.
But, to me it is,
For I spend half my waking hours,
in a wheelchair.
And, as the dream ended,
so did my joy.
Reality once again claimed me,
As it's favorite broken toy.
I could fly, or so it seemed.
I ran like the wind,
With no end in site.
And with my body,
everything was right.
I could jump further,
than ever before.
My body could move,
and I cried out for more.
You may think, this dream,
not unusual or rare.
But, to me it is,
For I spend half my waking hours,
in a wheelchair.
And, as the dream ended,
so did my joy.
Reality once again claimed me,
As it's favorite broken toy.
