BEFORE IT BEGAN
I rushed in too fast;
Reading signs,
I thought were clear.
The signs;
That were never even there.
Perhaps;
You’ve been through this before.
The first time;
It cut you to the core.
Never meaning to be;
More then a friend.
It ended before;
It could even begin.
Someday I’ll learn;
Not to jump in feet first.
Then maybe my bubble;
Won’t be burst.
Quietly now,
I’ll slip away.
I never meant to intrude;
Upon your day.
Up and running;
My emotions ran.
But, it was over;
Before,
It even began.
