BRIDGES
How did I get here,
from there?
What bridges brought me,
to this place?
The bridge I crossed was once sturdy
and bold.
No wobbling handrail,
met my hold.
I did not fear an;
unfortunate collapse.
What lessons will I learn,
From the bridges;
That I burn?
The other shore,
was within my grasp.
With each step I took,
to the other shore.
Doubt invaded,
my every pore.
Would it hold steady,
and accept my weight?
What new life,
would this bridge create?
How do we choose which bridges
to cross?
Which ones will help us
survive a loss?
So many bridges in life,
to choose.
How do we know which ones in life,
will cause us to lose?
Which bridges may crumble at our first,
timid footfall?
Which bridges will cause us,
to lose it all?
Will we find what we seak,
on a distant shore?
Or, will we regret the path we take;
forevermore.
Will the bridges remain,
if we choose to turn back?
Will we have the strength,
to go back?
Or will the courage,
we lack?
