HOURGLASS
Life is simply;
A giant hourglass,
In which we play.
Watching as each grain;
Slips away.
A moment of pleasure;
Simply a grain.
Slipping away;
Never to be seen again.
Treasure each moment;
Before it slips,
Through the hourglass neck.
Remember the sweetness;
Of your first kiss,
Perhaps it;
Was only a peck.
Should but a drop;
Of moisture,
Slide into your;
Sandy playground.
Make mud pies;
Out of the treasure,
to be found.
When the grains grow fewer;
As they pass through.
Appreciate the precious moments;
That are often too few.
When love is there holding out;
It's hand.
On which side will you;
Tip the hourglass,
To stand?
Will you let it run;
It's course?
Perhaps let it slip away;
In remorse.
Maybe you'll turn that glass;
For another chance.
Another chance;
For one last dance.
