DRIVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT
The giddy excitement in the air,
for an evening out that's rare.
The whole family packed in the van tight.
Everyone excited,
for drive-in movie night.
The crunching gravel as we drive through the lot.
Thw wonderful taste of buttery popcorn,
from the concession nice and hot.
climbing on the roof of the van,
for the perfect view.
Like the enormous screen just wouldn't do.
Anxiously awaiting for the sun to dim,
so the movie can begin.
My siblings devouring all the candy,
What hogs.
The goofy intermission dancing hot dogS.
broken speakers which you can barely hear.
patrons passing oh so near.
The bright headlights of cars disturbing the show.
How Far's the bathroom?
God only knows.
The final slamming of car doors.
Now shhh, the movies beginning;
it's star wars.
sure with my siblings I'd quibble and fight.
But, there's nothing quite like;
drive in movie night.
