THE INSIDE
You saw me,
Not the image
That looks back at me.
From the mirror,
each day.
But the me on the inside.
That has so much to offer;
So much to say.
You looked past the flaws,
of my outside image.
You didn't see the extra pounds.
The imperfect skin.
You saw the beauty,
I held within.
You did not judge,
What I couldn't be.
You simply accepted me;
For me.
You told me I was;
beautiful,
and smart.
You didn't judge,
The outer me.
You simply loved me for;
What was in my heart.
With you,
My imperfections,
I don't have to hide.
You simply love me,
For what's inside.
Not the image
That looks back at me.
From the mirror,
each day.
But the me on the inside.
That has so much to offer;
So much to say.
You looked past the flaws,
of my outside image.
You didn't see the extra pounds.
The imperfect skin.
You saw the beauty,
I held within.
You did not judge,
What I couldn't be.
You simply accepted me;
For me.
You told me I was;
beautiful,
and smart.
You didn't judge,
The outer me.
You simply loved me for;
What was in my heart.
With you,
My imperfections,
I don't have to hide.
You simply love me,
For what's inside.
