THE SHOW
Most days when you see me,
I wear a smile.
But, just wait as you look into my eyes;
you'll see it fade after awhile.
On the outside I just laugh,
and say;
That everything with me,
is okay.
But on the inside,
I feel trapped,
with no release.
Some days I cry out,
For inner peace.
What torments my battered soul?
A lonely heart;
with a gaping hole?
I put on a show,
made just for you.
I pretend to be happy it's what I'm expected;
to do.
So step right up,
enjoy the performance.
The troubled souls;
defeated dance.
No tickets are needed;
for you to see.
For this performance is;
completely free.
