JAR OF TEARS
I've gathered them for years;
An overflowing collection,
Of my tears.
Each drop shed;
For a different reason.
Each drop collected;
In a different season.
Each season of the life
I've lived,
On this earth.
Each drop from the moment;
Of my birth.
I cried for the comfort;
Of my mother's arms.
I cried for the bumps and bruises;
That caused me harm.
I cried at the loss;
Of my first tooth.
I cried for the loss of my pet;
If you want the truth.
I cried when the first little boy;
Stole from me,
A kiss.
I cried when grandpa passed away;
His hugs,
I would miss.
I cried when for the first time;
My heart was broke.
I cried with laughter;
At the funniest joke.
I cried when my love;
dropped to one knee.
I cried when he pleaded;
Marry me!
I cried when in my arms;
My baby,
I'd hold.
I cried when;
Your love for me,
Turned cold.
I cried when I held my dying;
grandmother's hand.
I cried when I lost the ability;
To stand.
I've collected all of these;
For years.
Collected an overflowing;
Jar of tears.
