THE BOX
I opened up the box;
And all the memories,
Came rushing back.
And those old feelings of love;
I did not lack.
Every sweet touch, and kiss;
I let replay,
In my mind.
Rejoicing in each new;
Memory I’d find.
But, slowly;
you drifted away.
It seemed you no longer;
Loved me one day.
They say if you love something;
To set it free.
But, sadly I fear;
You won’t come back to me.
Now I’m closing that box;
Putting the lid on tight.
Struggling against the emotions of loss;
I fight.
Tying it up tightly;
With a bow.
Dying inside;
Because you let me go.
