I wasn't supposed to care.

But, beyond my control.

A deeper relationship we share.

Did you think the words you wrote

Would fall apart?

Not understanding;

Your words filled my heart.

Maybe I read too much into

The words you wrote down.

But without you in my life,

I’d  certainly wear a frown.

Hiding how I feel,

So I won’t scare you away.

Why am I so lonely,

When I don’t hear from you each day?

I cannot say.

But I know you keep that loneliness at bay.

Standing in front of a boy.
