RAGAMUFFIN
My favorite pet I did not have,
while growing up.
It was as an adult,
I received my pup.
A mop of a yorky.
To some he looked kind of dorky.
To me he was a true friend,
it seemed his love,
would never end.
I was his favorite of all the family.
We spent our days together,
very companionably.
His mommas name was muffin.
So I called him my little,
ragamuffin.
When I was in the hospital,
we were apart.
Not seeing him everyday,
broke my heart.
Nothing could have made me feel more loved,
then when I came home,
and he flew into my arms like a dove.
Alas I had to send him away.
it broke my heart,
I cried all day.
but house trained he would not get.
So, hubby said;
say goodbye to your pet.
I cried for days at the loss of my,
nonjudgmental friend.
I'd give anything,
to have him back again.
