LONG LOST ROAD
I haven’t been there in awhile.
It’s a special place.
I work harder to reach it each day.
But every minute of every hour takes me further away.
Many take it for granted,
And many leave it too quickly.
But not until it’s too late do they realize
What they’ve done.
They’ve forgotten how to walk there,
For now they only run.
It’s a crazy world.
Moving too fast.
Before you know it you want it back but,
You’re only misunderstood.
For in trying so hard to lose it, you’ve
Forever lost your childhood.
