A Common Pain
A friend in lifeAsks nothing in his death
Except, perhaps, your tears,
That every drop may nurture
The ground he finds his bones
But all I feel is selfish loss
Hands bathed in blood,
Eyes, glazed in understanding,
Tears never falling,
Defying the pull of gravity
To drown me instead,
For every death I've seen,
For every friend I've comforted,
For every stranger I've met
I call you brother and sister,
I find myself with you
At moments of despair,
For I have seen death,
I have seen life taken,
I know,
Pour toi mon frere en vie
J'offre ce que je peu,
Des larmes en formes de mots,
Ecrit pour tout ta peine
Ecrit pour ton coeur et t'es larmes,
Alors pour ton souffrance
Je dit une priere,
Sur la Lune qui gouverne
Tout les morts entere...
