Fire
Who will save me
Jump into the fire
And free my frozen body?
Why does it not burn?
My skin should crack
But not a scratch
Now I see a figure
Fighting their way to me
I reach out
Fingers ghost along cool air
A figment
From a lost era
No more real
Than the fire that rages
Just so sad
I see the ghosts
That used to protect me
But they are all dead
Now I am left
To fight the fire that rages
All on my own
Late at night
When I don't sleep
When moonlight lights the earth
When you can't hurt me anymore
I look to the fire
That burnt away my barriers
I feel its heat
At last
I smell scorched skin
And I laugh
At the pain I mistook
For life
The emptiness is gone
And now I am open
To your manipulations
Jump into the fire
And free my frozen body?
Why does it not burn?
My skin should crack
But not a scratch
Now I see a figure
Fighting their way to me
I reach out
Fingers ghost along cool air
A figment
From a lost era
No more real
Than the fire that rages
Just so sad
I see the ghosts
That used to protect me
But they are all dead
Now I am left
To fight the fire that rages
All on my own
Late at night
When I don't sleep
When moonlight lights the earth
When you can't hurt me anymore
I look to the fire
That burnt away my barriers
I feel its heat
At last
I smell scorched skin
And I laugh
At the pain I mistook
For life
The emptiness is gone
And now I am open
To your manipulations
