The Bible's evil deed
This poem was written when one of my friends told me his parents reaction to him being Gay, the worst type of reaction. One which should have them shunned by any.
Walking together was their best moment
Or so they thought
The tenderness that filled them
The increase of their hearts
Pure heaven
Two souls lost in a sea of fear
Living with contempt
That’s what he always used to say
Living in exile
Was what ended our day
But how luck changes
How the Gods do hear our prayers
For in the peace of the night
Love burst from their crowded hearts
Spilling its rich joy
Deep into the other
Pounding with ever pressing urgency
Yet underlined with care
It was then they found their exit
Their release from society
In those quiet hours
Before the dawn has risen
Night after night they met
And standing face to face
They swore that this would be the ending
That they would say goodbye
For who in their families
Would bear the shame
Would face humiliation
And still stand tall
Ingrained upon their souls
Etched deep within their minds
Was the idea that this was wrong
So spoke the words of their God
Yet they still met
Still shared release
Still longed the others touch
Still craved the tightness
Their fire was not to be extinguished
Again they stood
Face to face
Two men
Walking together was their best moment
Or so they thought
The tenderness that filled them
The increase of their hearts
Pure heaven
Two souls lost in a sea of fear
Living with contempt
That’s what he always used to say
Living in exile
Was what ended our day
But how luck changes
How the Gods do hear our prayers
For in the peace of the night
Love burst from their crowded hearts
Spilling its rich joy
Deep into the other
Pounding with ever pressing urgency
Yet underlined with care
It was then they found their exit
Their release from society
In those quiet hours
Before the dawn has risen
Night after night they met
And standing face to face
They swore that this would be the ending
That they would say goodbye
For who in their families

And still stand tall
Ingrained upon their souls
Etched deep within their minds
Was the idea that this was wrong
So spoke the words of their God
Yet they still met
Still shared release
Still longed the others touch
Still craved the tightness
Their fire was not to be extinguished
Again they stood
Face to face
Two men
